The Department of Chemistry is one of the oldest and the biggest department of Shri R.L.T. College of Science, Akola established in the year 1983. The department of Chemistry is renowned for the meritorious records of M.Sc. Chemistry in the Vidarbha region. The department offers U.G. in Chemistry in seven different combinations since 1983, post-graduation in Organic Chemistry since 2010 and Ph.D. with the research area such as medicinal chemistry, heterocyclic and nanotechnology from 2003.
The Department of Chemistry is not only gaining the importance in merit performance but also in research, co-curricular and Extension activity. Department of chemistry under the roof of CRYSTAL CLUB conduct various Co-curricular, cultural and Extension activity.
- Total Nine students stood in merit list of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati during the last five years 2017-18 to 2021-22.
- Total Three students awarded Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the department.
- One students awarded master of philosophy degree from the department.
- Department has total five research supervisors recognized by S.G.B. Amravati University, Amravati.
- Three faculty members has awarded with minor research projects.
- Research activity of the department in vibrant. Total _______ research papers were published by the faculties in reputed journals like, ——–
- Faculty members have presented more than ___________ paper in various National and International journals.
- Not only research faculty members are also ahead in academic activity like syllabus drafting, paper setting, moderation.
- Total Fourteen books has been published by the faculty members of the department.
- It’s a pleasure to report here that the alumni of the department are holding good position in various sectors like in forensic laboratory, various industries academician and educationalist.
About Bridge Library of Chemistry Department
During the pandemic condition of Covid-19, Bridge library is developed by Department of Chemistry to bridge the gap between teachers and students keeping in view the present situation prevailing around the world. With the development of Bridge Library the teachers can interact with the students in terms of providing audio lectures, video lectures, study material and PPTs related to the prescribed syllabus. This platform is developed to help and assist the students during lockdown.
