About Department

Botany Department is established on 1970. The Department runs UG programs since 52 yrs. and recently it has started PG programs.

The Department has well equipped laboratories with modern instruments for UG and PG course having qualified and experienced faculty. The department is enriched with learning resources such as charts, slides, models herbarium which help the students in independent learning. The Botanical Garden of the department has been planting and conserving trees climbers, creepers, herbs, shrubs, medicinal plants and a wide variety of floral species can be seen thriving on the college campus. Every year Department has organized different activities like seminar, workshop, tree plantation etc.

The Department imparts its valuable contribution in college, academic, Research as well as Co- curriculum Development.  Department has always placed emphasis on teaching, co-curricular activities and Extra – curricular activities. Class tests, Assignments, Hands on activities, are given to the students to enhance their curricular performance. Study tours, Botanical garden visits, guest lectures, and project exhibitions and the co-curricular activities organized by the department which certainly prepare the students to face the future challenges.

Botanical Garden

Department of Botany has Botanical Garden in the heart of college campus. The garden as well as campus is maintained by distinguished Flora. It also helps to enhance Knowledge & create Environmental awareness among the students. It increases percentage of oxygen for maintaining the clean environment. Dept. of Botany has planted numbers of plants out of which some are Medicinal plants , Ornamental plants, big trees and shady plants. Recently our Department has introduced the E- Flora of College campus by QR code facility.
