The NSS unit of Shri R.L.T. College of Science, Akola observed the Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti on 02/10/2022. The programme to pay tribute and salutation to the great leaders on their birth anniversary was organized by NSS unit at 9:00am in the college auditorium. All the NSS volunteers and program officers Dr. Rashmi Joshi and Dr. Samadhan Munde conducted the event. Respected principal Dr. V. D. Nanoty had honoured the President chair and Jr. College Professor Mr. M. T. Ambhore was present for the event. Dr. Rashmi P. Joshi anchored the programme.
The Honourable Dias and all the teaching and non-teaching staff and students paid tribute to the great leaders. Prof. Ambhore in his informative speech informed students about all the satyagraha and all the activities to get freedom. Principal Dr. Nanoty in his presidential speech appreciated the volunteers for street play and told the importance of celebrating such commemorative days and festivals. Principal felicitated all the Swachhata doot, who everyday cleans the college and keep the premises healthy.
At the end of the programme vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Munde and Ms Sonali Gawande, NSS co-programme Officer ended the programme by the National Anthem. On this day the NSS unit every year performs the cleanliness drive in campus as well as off-campus. On 1/10/2022 Dr. S.L. Munde and some NSS volunteers visited the Ashok Vatika and Gandhi Jawahar Baag in the city and cleaned the garden and the Monuments there and give the message to the society of duties of good citizens. On 2/10/22 after the salutation programme the NSS Volunteers presented the nice Street play to create awareness in society about “Swaccha Parisar ani Swasthya Bharat”.
