Today on date 19/04/2020 the NSS team of Shri R.L. T. College of Science, Akola under the guidance of NSS department of SGBAU Amravati University, Amravati, conducted an online “Corona Awareness Quiz” in Marathi language to make awareness easy in the villagers of NSS adopted gram Apoti (Kd.). During this pandemic throughout the world the Covid-19 Novel Virus is causing havoc. In the period of lockdown and work from home this small effort was made by the NSS team of the college.
The quiz consists of about 15 questions and a VDO clip for the participants as the study material. The quiz consists of questions which help the coordinators easy in this lockdown period to work from home safely. It was conducted for all students, teachers, other people also. Within one hour we get the excellent response and for the day the 100 certificates of appreciation were downloaded.
These efforts were made possible by the hard work of the coordinators of this activity and NSS programme officer Dr. Rashmi Joshi Sawalkar and Co- programme officer Mr. Shailesh Jaiswal under the able guidance and support of the visionary principal of the college respected Dr. V. D. Nanoty. Sarpanch and Upsarpanch, Dr. Shri Umesh Bopate and people of Apoti khurd supported to make the activity successful.
The Women Representative of the village Mrs Sangita Kutemate who helped us through theladies of Self-Help Groups (Bachat Gut)of the village. About 50 NSS volunteers of the college doing awareness through social media by making different posters.
Some volunteers were made cloth masks at home and those masks were distributed to the poor and needy people by keeping social distancing. All the volunteers downloaded the Arogya-Setu App as precautionary measures given by the Government of India. Some food Packets Distribution in collaboration with some NGO’swere done to the poor people by the authorities of the NSS team.
To make all these events successful the NSS Programme Officers Dr. Rashmi Joshi Sawalkar and Dr. SamadhanMunde along-with the Volunteers worked hard. Thank you all for kind support and help.
