Shri R.L.T. College of Science, Akola, State Institute of Science Education, Nagpur, Department of Education (Sec.), Z.P. Akola and Akola District Science Forum jointly organized one Day Workshop EUREKA (Emerging Universe of Research Education & Knowledge Ascent) for High School students and teachers on 13th March 2019. Total 118 students and 30 teachers participated in the event.
Principal Dr. V.D. Nanoty presided over the programme while Dinesh Tarole, Deputy Education Officer, inaugurated the workshop. Dr. Ravindra Bhaskar, coordinator of Akola District Science Forum made opening remark. Principal Dr. Nanoty said that students should develop scientific attitude.
Prof. Dattaraj Vidyasagar, Dr. Sanjay Tidke (Dist. Coordinator of NSS), Prof. Shailesh Jaiswal, Vishal More (Damini Squad member) were the resource persons. Mr. Prakash Mukund, Education Officer, guided the participants. Science Aptitude Test was conducted. Sweta Sadansiv of English High School won first prize. Tanushri Pande of Sanmitra Public School, Spandini Joshi of Bharat Vidyalaya and Tanushree Solanke of Vivekanand High School secured second prize. Atul Sinha, Amey Joshi, Vighnesh Sangale, Nidhi Chaudhari, Rahul Aawte and Aanchal Ingle got third prize.
Dr. Sudhir Kohchale and Prof. Shailesh Jaiswal conducted the proceedings whereas Madhav Munshi, Principal, New English High School, proposed a vote of thanks. Coordinator Dr. Archana Sawarkar, Organizing committee members Dr. S.R. Kohchale, Dr. R.P. Joshi, Mr. R.B. Ghayalkar, Dr. H.S. Malpani, S.R. Jaiswal, A.B. Khedkar, teaching and non teaching staff and students work hard for success of workshop.
